Alas, my friend and co-worker andrew k. has thrown in the towel and walked away from the glamorous job we do. He will be sourly missed. yes sourly. i'm really just a bit jealous, because change is fun. besides being a talented guy, he was funny . . . here's some of his brilliant stuff.

I have an idea for a movie about a splinter group of fed up monks who come to America to buy guns and porno. On their way back to Tibet, their plane full of guns and porno crashes off the coast of Madagascar. Only two of the monks survive, and they happen to be the two asexual pacifists of the mostly heterosexual violent splinter group. They find themselves washed ashore on this tiny island with 50 crates of guns and porno, which they have absolutely no use for. After a year or so, one of the monks builds a raft out of all the big oversized boxes porno videos come in. The other monk builds a giant gun by strapping all of the guns together with the porno video tape. By this time, the two asexual pacifist monks haven't spoken to each other for 9 months and they live on opposite sides of the island. The one monk gathers up a bunch of coconuts and water and pushes off the tiny island on his porno box raft. The other monk straps himself to the butt of the giant gun he made and fires all the triggers at once, propelling himself and the giant mass of guns strapped to his ass far up into the clouds. That's all I've got so far.

So much fun, it's hard to describe. That's how our weekend at strawberry went. We stayed up late and had fun with good friends.
It hailed when we arrived leaving a thin white layer across the deck and hills. Saturday we leisurely arose and made our way to echo lake. It is one entrance to desolation wilderness, and i plan on going back for an extended trip. The maps show hundreds of mountain lakes, peaks and streams, and it's all beautiful. We hiked a good 50 yards in and jumped in the water. Max and I swam out a ways and were yelled at by a mountain lakebilly puttering by. "why are you swimming out here without a boat?" seems to me that part of the beauty of swimming is that you don't need a boat.

We bbq'd like pro's and then waited for april to fall asleep (the meds helped). While she rested we put on our best wedding atire and decorated. She came down the stairs wearing a dirty wife beater expecting a white trash party and the wedding began. We strapped the veil on her head and jason performed the ceremony. I stepped in as wedding singer, and led "a white wedding."
That night was incredible.

The next day we ambitiously climbed a waterfall and swam in mountain streams. i have to run but it was so fun.

Let's get back to last weekend, before it's too late. After hitting balls in the blazing palo alto sun from 8 til 2, we headed back to SF. The weather has been incredible. We headed to the park with becks and played b-ball followed by tennis. All sports-all the time. Later we had 15 people over for another tri-tip meat fest. Our house rocks for parties and food. The wine flowed and we had the dance floor jumpin even with such a small party. Later we met Lindsey bbq crew at hush hush.

Friday we headed south to dale's and floated in the 98 degree pool. I feared he was making us into stew. He definately was trying to fatten us up with grilled halibut with a mango salsa, artichokes, and corn. Summer is wonderful.
We took it easy that night with a movie at home, Ali bumaye.

Saturday night we saw abe roll back in town. We started the evening with a neighborhood wig party. We were looking like fools, but max managed to meet a very cute girl named lisa who fell for his anniesque curls. Later that night we shook our asses and went low at the end up. That dance floor is really growing on me.

Sunday becks and I played a soccer tournament all day our by ocean beach. It was solid play, and plenty of running. Both of our teams won one game and tied two. We will have to settle this tie with some other game of skill.

That was an incredible weekend. It's been so beautiful that we spent monday evening basking in the sun in the backyard at zeitgeist. I wish sf would stay like this all summer.

I just put up the second installment of guatemalan pictures from boo. kick here.

Brother Dave sent pictures from Guatemala.

He's spending the summer there working with children and shrinking heads. God bless him. The people and colors of guatemala are beautiful. The buildings of Antigua set against the looming volcanic mountains make me want to pack a little sachel and start driving south. I know i can make it. i'm coming, boo.

the Funk in 405 raised the roof. I had a blast, and so did quite a few other people. The only problem was i felt like i missed spending time with people because there were so many to talk to . . . i think i saw abe for 15 seconds.

last night were burned a whole truck load of wood out at ocean beach. We had some wine, and sang songs. i love sitting around fires on the beach.

Sunday lindsey and I headed up to marin to see Craig and Elizabeth. There were lot's of dogs and little people and homemade ice cream. The weather has been absolutely unbelievable.
